Gigi Hadid’s cashmere brand Guest in Residence is considering Los Angeles real estate for a new store.

The New York-based business launched by Hadid in 2022 has been reaching out to area real estate brokers for help finding a new store location, according to sources with knowledge of the matter.

A Los Angeles store would have Guest in Residence bookending the country and, if L.A. is the next to open, would be the second door after a Bond Street location.

Hadid, who is Guest in Residence founder and creative director, started the knitwear line in September 2022. She explained to social media followers the goal was to create quality cashmere pieces at “a more reasonable price.”

“The earliest days of Guest in Residence came about when I started to question the cashmere market, and those answers gave me a path,” Hadid said on social media ahead of the brand’s launch. “One hundred percent cashmere is 100 percent cashmere; but, in the past, it is a material that, at its most integral state, has been made exclusive. I believe that because of its sustainable qualities: natural and made to cherish and to pass down – cashmere is a luxury that should be more accessible.”

Top sellers for Guest in Residence include the Everywhere Cardigan ($465), Stealth Cardigan ($285), Everywhere Pant ($485) and Cozy Crew ($695).

Temporary locations, or “feel” shops, on Mercer and Greene streets in New York opened not long after launch as means of exposing consumers to the new line in real life. A pop-up in Aspen bowed in December 2022.

The permanent Bond Street location opened in October, about a year after Guest in Residence officially launched.

The brand’s wholesale distribution includes Elyse Walker, FWRD, Holt Renfrew, Le Bon Marche and Net-a-Porter among other retailers.

Outside of the more public-facing initiatives, the business has built an executive team with diverse fashion experience to support the growth.

Isaac Ross, founder of New York swimwear brand Solid & Striped, leads Guest in Residence as its CEO.

Former long-time Tommy Hilfiger executive Rossella Raffi serves as vice president of brand marketing. Meanwhile, Sara Ciesla, vice president of merchandising and planning, previously served as Wilson Sportswear director of merchandising and held senior buying positions at BLDWN, 7 For All Mankind and Rag & Bone. The team also includes Elana Rosenblatt, vice president of sales, who owned her own consulting firm and before that worked at Los Angeles-based Reformation.
