Fear of God poached Pacsun co-CEO Alfred Chang to lead the Los Angeles streetwear label.

Chang is set to leave Pacsun March 8, after a 17-year run with the Anaheim-based retailer. He will remain on the retailer’s board once he’s joined Fear of God.

“It has been a privilege to help build Pacsun into the brand and company it is today,” Chang said in a statement. “Looking ahead, I am thrilled to join the Fear of God team, where I will have the opportunity to deepen the strong partnership between Pacsun and Fear of God that we’ve forged over the past seven years.”

Pacsun has long carried Fear of God’s Essentials label, which has been a key part of the retailer’s more recent growth.

Replacing Chang is Pacsun President Brie Olson, another veteran of the retailer, who will serve as co-CEO with Mike Relich.

Olsen helped boost the brand’s metaverse presence. The executive also spearheaded partnerships with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, rolled out the first gender neutral collection and oversaw the release of Pacsun Kids.

Executive Team Buildout

Chang’s appointment at Fear of God rounds out a C-suite built over the past couple years with several fashion veterans.

Edward Bromberg, former CEO of Los Angeles boutique retailer Planet Blue, joined Fear of God as COO in January 2021. A month later Jason Mayden, former Jordan Brand and Nike designer, was hired a Fear of God Athletics president. Damian Bulluck, former Undefeated Inc. CMO and a former Nike marketing executive, joined in March 2021 as CMO.

Long-time president and CFO Glenn Milus rounds out the C-suite, having been with Fear of God since 2011.

Fear of God, formally founded in 2013 by Jerry Lorenzo, made its name in the luxury streetwear space. It has since evolved well beyond that label.

The company’s divisions include its namesake men’s contemporary line of wool jackets, suit pants, merino tops, cashmere shirts and loungewear. That’s flanked by Fear of God Athletics, a partnership between the brand and Adidas, and the more affordable Essentials business.
