Paris Hilton Celebrates Farmers Market H&M
H&M officially opened its 15,000-square-foot store at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles with Paris Hilton.
The new store at 3rd Street and Fairfax Avenue comes as the fast-fashion retailer looks to boost its investment in the L.A. area following the H&M&LA Festival in Downtown Los Angeles earlier this year. It’s also set to take over sister retailer & Other Stories’ former space on Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, as previously reported by Vernon Proper.
The Beverly Drive door marks the first time the brand will make its way into the Beverly Hills market. Other future stores include outposts at the Brea Mall and Beverly Center. Within the region, H&M is also set to open a store in September at BLVD in Las Vegas.
The Farmers Market door carries women’s and men’s clothing and is RFID-enabled to help find items faster within the cavernous space and expedite online orders.
The pumped-up presence in L.A. is being backed by heavy marketing spend, aside from the festival. There’s also an ongoing campaign that includes Amelia Gray, Tue Nguyen and Julez Smith.

Clare V. Has a Refreshed Silver Lake Store
Los Angeles accessories company Clare V. put the finishing touches on its flagship Silver Lake space, which reopened Aug. 16.
Clare V. planted a flag in Silver Lake 13 years ago at 3339 W. Sunset Blvd. Since then, the business has grown to 14 stores in the U.S. That includes Croft Avenue in West Hollywood, Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach, Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, the Montecito Country Mart, Linden and Fillmore streets in San Francisco and the Brentwood Country Mart.
The brand also has a wholesale business and counts Anthropologie, Nordstrom and Shopbop among its retail partners.
The refreshed Silver Lake store was remodeled in conjunction with the Lucie Project’s Lucie Klimes.

XLarge, X-Girl Koreatown Pop-Up Shop
It’s last call for one of the OG L.A. streetwear brands.
XLarge’s legacy pop-up shop at 3100 Wilshire Boulevard in Koreatown will be closing its doors Aug. 24.
The less than one-month-long run was aimed at celebrating the history of the brand, which was launched in 1991 by Eli Bonerz and Adam Silverman. The two started it with XLarge’s first store on Vermont Avenue.
The currently open pop-up houses the brand’s Legacy Line merchandise and some archival pieces.
Sister brand X-girl, which was launched in 1994 by Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and Daisy von Furth, also has a shop-in-shop within the Wilshire Boulevard space that also ends its run on Sunday.
