Los Angeles luxury label Amiri is buckling down on retail with its 20th and largest store now open at the NorthPark Center in Dallas.
The latest store opening rounds out Amiri’s domestic door count to 10. More are slated to open, with plans in the works for new outposts in Pennsylvania and Las Vegas. A third, in Michigan, is set to open as a pop-up shop.
The Dallas store, totaling 4,400 square feet, continues the same aesthetic as Amiri’s other doors, with a gallery feel and contemporary art decorating the space. Dallas, specifically, currently features art by Oksana Schon and Jason Revok.
NorthPark Center’s opening follows Amiri’s South Coast Plaza store in Costa Mesa, which bowed in July as the brand looks to bring its version of California luxury to a broader customer base.
The label has grown considerably since Amiri launched his namesake in 2014 in Los Angeles’ Arts District. The designer entered the market with a men’s line that drew inspiration from rock ‘n’ roll. Two years later, the label expanded into women’s ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories.
Renzo Rosso’s OTB, the owner of brands such as Diesel and Jil Sander, bought a minority stake in Amiri in 2019.
The brick-and-mortar expansion began not long after, with Amiri’s first store opened in 2020 on Rodeo Drive, followed by new locations coming at a rapid clip in New York, Miami, Shanghai, Tokyo, Dubai and other places.
Last year, the company brought in its first-ever outside CEO in former Burberry Vice President Adrian Ward-Rees. The hire was seen as a way for Amiri to focus all of his energies on design and creative direction, while Ward-Rees steers the business into its next phase.
“Adrian has strong and holistic expertise in all facets of the business,” Amiri told Vogue Business at the time of the CEO appointment. “His thoughtful insight within the luxury sector combined with a modern approach made him the best candidate to drive the continued growth at Amiri.”
